Does pasta
make you fat?
- Italpasta president Joseph Vitale
put it best when he stated, ÒA lot of people are under the impression
that pasta is fattening. Pasta is only fattening when you add
meatballs and all kinds of cheese. This is what ruins pasta.Ó
Pasta has both protein and complex carbohydrates, which makes
it a meal in itself. Even our Vitale and Italpasta sauces are
low in fat!
What
is the Food Guide of Canada?
- The food guide is broken down
into 4 food groups. The 4 food groups provide you with the nutrients
you need to be healthy. You need foods from each group because
each group gives you different nutrients. You also need to choose
different foods from within each food group to get all the nutrients
your body needs. Look at the chart on the opposite page for
the key nutrients each food group offers.
Canada's Guidelines for Healthy Eating
